Own The Dream – The ultimate racehorse ownership competition!
Own The Dream is the ultimate racehorse ownership competition where you and your mates could win a voucher to spend towards a racehorse at the 2025 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale!
All you need to do is gather your mates and register a team. A minimum of four (4) and a maximum of eight (8) members.
Get ready to be transported into the inner sanctum of the WA Racing Industry and meet the trainers, syndicators, owners, jockeys, and of course, the stars of the show – the horses!
The competition consists of three behind-the-scenes events which will give your team an insight into the fun and excitement of racehorse ownership.
The major prize is a $20,000 prize package to redeem towards a Westspeed Platinum yearling. The runner-up prizes are $15,000 and $10,000 prize packages. All losing teams who meet the competition criteria are offered a $1500 consolation voucher to kick start their ownership experience.

EVENT 1: OWNERSHIP 101
Friday 31 January 2025 – 6pm – 8:30pm
Join us for Ownership 101: The Grand Launch of Own The Dream 2025!
Kick off the 2025 edition of Own The Dream in style at The Camfield. This exciting event is your chance to meet some of Western Australia’s top trainers and syndicators and learn everything you need to know about owning a racehorse.
Hosted by our ambassador, Brittany Taylor, the evening promises engaging discussions over a beer or wine. We’ll cover essential topics such as the costs involved and the timeline for getting a horse to the racetrack.
You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with fellow contestants and seasoned racehorse owners who will share their experiences and valuable tips.
Teams will be inaugurated on stage and receive their battle packs, preparing them for the upcoming competition events. Plus, we’ll unveil the first competition challenge for teams to tackle before the next event.

EVENT 2: STABLE & STUD TOUR
Sunday 9 Feburary 2025 – 7:30am – 1:30pm
Experience the Exclusive Stable and Stud Tour!
Join us for a rare behind-the-scenes look at a premier breeding farm and racing stable. This tour offers exclusive access to the training facility of rising trainer Ryan Hill, who will personally guide teams through his stables. Get up close with the horses and learn firsthand from Ryan what it takes to prepare a horse for racetrack success.
Next, we’ll visit the pristine Darling View Thoroughbreds, home to Western Australia’s champion sire, Playing God, along with new sires Lightsaber and Splintex. Teams will enjoy a yearling parade featuring some of Darling View’s horses available at the 2025 Magic Millions Perth Sale. Additionally, you’ll witness the parade of Playing God and Splintex, with Stud Manager Brent Atwell showcasing their progeny. Discover the differences between a middle-distance stallion and an early two-year-old sprinting type.
A gourmet BBQ lunch and refreshments will be served before teams are transported back to Perth in an air-conditioned coach. This half-day tour promises an unforgettable experience, so please ensure your availability before RSVP’ing.
EVENT 3: GRAND FINALE RACE DAY
Saturday 15 February 2025 – 12pm-6pm
Magic Millions Race Day at Pinjarra Park.
Join us for a fabulous, fun-filled day at Pinjarra Park as we host a marquee event for teams to enjoy, culminating in the drawing of our major prizes later in the afternoon.
Dress up and revel in the excitement of the races, featuring the $250,000 Magic Millions 2YO Classic and Magic Millions 3YO Trophy. This high-energy race day is bursting with vibrant colors, stunning fashion, fast horses, and enthusiastic owners, all celebrating one of WA’s biggest regional race days.
Teams will be paired with a horse for the day, offering a unique ownership experience. You’ll have the chance to meet your horse and enter the mounting yard to see the jockey up close. Enjoy sweepstakes, losing betting draws, fashion contests, and more. And don’t miss the crowning of the 2025 Own The Dream champions!
